Terra Cognita has its roots in world music and jazz. Featuring cellist, Jane Fenton, flautist, Jan Hendrickse, drummers, Miles Bould, Dan Gresson, and the legendary Brazilian percussionist, Airto Moreira. Michael appears on piano, guitar, bass guitar and viola.

This composition, Breath – Into Blue, was inspired by the need to slow down, take a breath and appreciate the amazing mystery of air. I often go walking in the wood – to clear my head, meditate and catch me breath. In the stressful urban environment I find it’s so easy to forget the simple creative act of breathing.
The images used in this film were taken and compiled by my brother Mark McEvoy who I believe has presented a powerful and evocative visual poetry to the idea behind the music.
